By Adam Fiala, ATI Assistant Regional Manager – Chicago
The August 2025 flooding in Milwaukee was unprecedented, causing swift, extreme devastation. This disaster, occurring with another major flood in Tennessee, highlights the increasing severity of storms. Unlike hurricanes, which offer some warning, floods can strike unexpectedly, making preparation challenging.
The impact was widespread, affecting everything from the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s production center, which sustained over $5 million in damage, to local landmarks like the Wauwatosa Hart Park football field and the 100-year-old Wauwatosa Hart Park curling club. Thousands of homes and families were also severely impacted. Water levels reached up to 9 feet in homes and 4 to 6 feet or more in businesses, demonstrating how water relentlessly finds its way into any structure.
In response to this widespread disaster, our team answered the call without hesitation, as we have done countless times before. We immediately began assisting commercial, residential, and public-sector clients and offered a supportive voice to those who needed reassurance.
Disasters can strike anyone, without warning or notice. We encourage you to have conversations with your team and family now about how you would respond if a disaster occurred today. Knowing who to call is crucial. As soon as we were contacted, ATI was on-site the next day and, in some cases, even the same day to support the Milwaukee community.
